Artist Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at CoArtShows@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

At Colorado Art Shows, we aspire to the most professional look art festivals. To this end, you are required to have a white tent.

We do offer tent and equipment rentals in the event you do not have one for yourself: https://form.jotform.com/CCMINC/coloradoartshowscom-rents

Tent Weights:

  1. We are now requiring ratchet straps for your weights- no bungees or ropes of any kind. Pleased take the safety of the public, other artists, & yourself seriously!
  2.  Weights for your tent are a MUST. Please bring at least 50 lbs per corner. You will be inspected by us and the fire marshal. Failure to comply will result in being asked to leave our show.

Art Display:

You are more than welcome to display art on the outside of your tent walls (if applicable). ColoradoArtShows is not responsible for any theft or damage to the art or displays

For all of our shows, set up will be the day/evening before the show. Time slots are assigned based on booth number. Electricity might be available - please email us to inquire.

Booth locations are either a very short dolly trip onto the grass or drive up. Day-of setup will be allowed on a case-by-base basis and the artist must remove their vehicle no later than 9am.

Full load-in/load-out instructions are emailed to participating artists 1-2 weeks before the show. Please do not email us for your booth number or show map, it will be sent when we have finished the show layout.

We work hard to design a layout that works for everyone. We do not accept requests to move booth locations. Location requests prior to receiving your booth number might be considered but are not guaranteed.

There is typically designated artist parking at each festival. RV parking is limited when available. Look out for show specific parking instructions included in the artist info email sent out 1-2 weeks prior to each show.

For Broadmoor Traditions Only:

We have reserved artist parking and trailer drop. First-come-first-serve.

https://form.jotform.com/CCMINC/broadmoor-artist-parking

For Evergreen Mountain Only:

All artists will be parking off site - no parking on site. No parking in back of center. First-come-first-serve trailer drop form: https://form.jotform.com/CCMINC/evergreen-elk-trailer-drop

Professional and insured security is provided overnight on Friday and Saturday for every festival to insure your art and displays are looked after.

You are more than welcome to setup your tent and displays Friday night and bring your artwork Saturday morning. All artwork and displays must be setup before 9:30am on show day. No drive up load-in allowed on Saturday and Sunday mornings, all work must be dollied in.

ColoradoArtShows.com staff work remotely from our homes. We cannot accommodate artists requests to ship in show materials to us if coming from out-of-state. If needing to ship artwork or display materials, we recommend utilizing UPS or FedEx's "Hold for Pickup" options.

All Colorado Art Shows Festivals are outdoor events. Our events are rain-or-shine. Please check the weather prior to your show and dress appropriately, bring sunscreen and lots of water, these are long days in the sun!

We have dealt with extreme wind events in the past. Please make sure all your work and your tent is secure before leaving at load-in. Tent Weights are a MUST!

Check out our Cancellation Policy page for info in the event we are shut down due to weather.

It is the artists responsibility to find accommodations for the duration of the festival. If coming from out our State we recommend traveling in the day before Friday Load-in to give yourself enough time to set up for the show!

There is no camping or overnight stays allowed on properties where our festivals are held. You will not be allowed to sleep in your trailers or cars on location, please make other arrangements at a hotel or nearby camp ground.

We do not required artists to obtain liability insurance to participate in our shows. You are more than welcome to obtain insurance for your artwork/property on your own volition.

All ColoradoArtShows. com artists are required to fill out a liability waiver upon acceptance that releases our organization from any responsibility pertaining to injury, theft, damage, etc. Artists will not be allowed to participate if this form is not signed.

  • Please direct all Colorado Tax Questions to Colorado Tax Compliance Agent Talon R. at (303) 866-5643

  • All ColoradoArtShow.Com festivals require vendors to obtain a Special Event Sales Tax License with the State of Colorado for sales tax remittance purposes. (If participating in multiple event with us this season, we recommend purchasing a Multi-Event Sales Tax License).

While most cities rely on their state’s Department of Revenue to handle tax collection and audits, Home Rule cities opt to "self-collect". Because they operate autonomously, Home Rule cities can:

  • Set their own tax rates: Determine unique sales and use tax rates distinct from state limits.
  • Define what is taxable: Decide which goods and services are subject to tax. For example, a Home Rule city might choose to tax software-as-a-service (SaaS) or certain groceries, even if the state does not.
  • Manage licensing and reporting: Require businesses to obtain a specific local license, file separate tax returns, and follow distinct filing deadlines.

Artists are responsible for obtaining correct licensing and tax remittance to the State and City (when applicable). Any show with "HOME RULE" requires separate city filing either submitted by the artist or Coloradoartshows.com.
